Introduction to Metal Embossing : Saturday April 27, 2019 In this intensive full day workshop you will complete a greeting card sampler block and a pewter plaque that can be used as a book cover or wall art. You will be introduced to a variety of key metal embossing techniques and mark making tools as well as how to use texture plates, stencils, embossing folders and then some….You will also learn how to do lettering on metal. You will be using luscious lead free pewter sheet and will learn to apply patina and color to your project. All supplies and tools to use in class are provided to complete your project and bookmark.   • In this two day workshop students will create 12 small 3.5 inch panels with pewter and polymer clay using two of the fabulous Artfoamies Succulents Stencils designed by Red Tin Roof. You will learn how to use the two stencils on lead free pewter sheet using the Big Shot embossing machine and adding hand embossed textures, tooling and oxidizing patina. You will create clay tiles using the stencils to transfer a low relief design onto polymer clay. You will make your own succulent molds as well as do clay hand building, applying paints and texturing techniques to create a ceramic look finish. All supplies are included as well as the Artfoamie Arizona and Phoenix stencils. Students will have a choice of applying the panels to a wood canvas ( finished with text tissue paper collage and paint techniques) and a cube, or a larger wood canvas only that will accommodate all 12 panels.
