We have become more aware of the plight of bees and how we have a hand in it. In this 2 day workshop we will complete this small display box (measures 32 cm x 22 cm x 7 cm) using a variety of mixed media techniques. You will learn how to create a metal embossing “texture plate” from ornamental metal banding strips, to adorn our box with lead free pewter, using the Big Shot Embossing machine (or hand transfer embossing : ) We will use Silver leaf and paint techniques to further adorn our box and pedestal feet. To create the glass header piece we will use Rub-on images, rubber stamps, acrylic paint, alcohol inks and silver leaf to create a reverse glass distressed vintage look. You will learn how to make the small hand decoration using polymer clay, bead caps and epoxy clay as well as the header decoration and box corners. All supplies are provided and each student will also receive a tiny tin photo-frame and large metal bee (to be distressed with oxidizing patina and enhanced with silver leaf and crown embellishment)
